Hainanese Chicken Rice Origins : This is authentic Singapore cuisine. Although the name suggests that its origins are from China, it was actually by Hainanese (Hainan is a province of China) immigrants in Singapore. It is thus not possible to find this dish in China despite its name. This is one of the common food items sold by Food Hawkers in the Hawker Centres and Food Courts in Singapore. Every self-respecting cafe that sells local food sells this item.
